Winery Astoria, founded in 1987, is a typical Italian wine producer that comes from the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. It is a family-owned winery specializing in the production of Prosecco and still Italian wines, but for today, we will leave those aside in my text.
From its very beginnings, this winery became one of the leading prosecco producers in its region. Prosecco Astoria is characterized by high quality, making it a popular sparkling wine among prosecco lovers worldwide. Astoria offers various types of prosecco, including brut, extra brut, dry, extra dry, and demi-sec, which appeals to a broad portfolio of customers and offers many different tastes with numerous preferences.
My personal favorite and recommendation is Astoria – “Fanó” Asolo Prosecco Superiore extra brut. This very dry prosecco stands out with brilliant freshness. Thanks to the higher-altitude vineyards with a rocky base, it is lightly mineral, and notes of white fruit and apples, fine perlage, and tangy acidity prevail. If you enjoy fish or seafood, then in combination with these dishes, a great culinary experience awaits you. But back to the Astoria winery itself. The family is dedicated to innovation and offers other interesting products related to prosecco. Among them is, for example, Astoria – Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Superiore Millesimato, which is made from grapes from selected vineyards and bears the prestigious D.O.C.G. designation.
Winery Astoria has gained popularity thanks to the excellent quality of its wines and the passionate interest of the entire family in its cultivation and production, but it also focuses on sustainable and ecologically friendly production, which is another reason why their prosecco is sought after among its lovers. It is worth noting that Astoria has for many years been associated with the world-renowned cycling race Giro d’Italia, one of the most prestigious cycling races in the world, held annually right in Italy. Due to its association with this prestigious event, the winery consolidates its position as one of the most respected prosecco producers.
