LA GIOIOSA Winery

7 May 2024

Winery La Gioiosa, a story without borders. "La Gioiosa et Amorosa – Joyful and seductive": an expression that captures the desire to fully enjoy every moment, and one that poets and writers use to describe Marca Trevigiana – the Province of Treviso – Italy.

The vineyards are located in the Treviso, Valdobbiadene, Asolo, and Cartizze regions—all of which are the home of Prosecco. Italy is wine, the Italy that the whole world enjoys. The story of the La Gioiosa winery begins in the 1920s, when the grandfather of the current president, Giancarlo Moretti Polegato, purchased several vineyards in the hills of Treviso, in the heart of the region producing the finest wines. Then, throughout the twentieth century, new generations and new development paths push Prosecco beyond national borders and contribute to its global success.

But it all started at the winery's headquarters, at the Crocetta del Montello estate. To this day, all ancestral traditions are preserved here, and the estate itself is the main pillar of their winemaking activities. In addition to the Glera grape variety used for Prosecco production, they also grow Cabernet Sauvignon and several other varieties here. A very interesting feature is that they can boast the Vineyard Gym—a fitness training circuit nestled among the rows of vineyards in a beautiful natural setting, which all sports lovers can use for free.

On this estate in the Valdobbiadene area, amidst hills declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, farmers and agronomists work to produce wines that marked the renaissance and success of this land in the form of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG. This entire amazing region is a tumultuous green sea of magnificent vineyards that adorn the slopes between the municipalities of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano. Winemaking here is a centuries-old art, cultivated with great passion.

La Gioiosa produces several special and rare wines that are often awarded at international competitions. Among them is, for example, Prosecco Rosé DOC Brut, a combination of the white Glera variety and the red Pinot Noir variety. This rosé prosecco is fresh, fruity, and very elegant, and you will find it in our selection at every prosecco picnic in 2024.
